ACSISS Platform

Understanding different types of feeds

SISS Data Services provides accounting-grade bank transaction data through Open Banking and Direct data feeds for ERP, lending and accounting, and other platforms.

What is CDR / Open Banking?

  • The Consumer Data Right (CDR) is Australia's government-legislated Open Banking framework, administered by the ACCC and Treasury. It gives consumers and businesses the legal right to securely share their banking data with Accredited Data Recipients (ADRs) such as SISS Data Services.

  • Data is shared via secure, standardised APIs directly from the bank (the Data Holder) - no screen-scraping and no sharing of internet banking credentials.

  • Sharing is based on explicit, time-bound consent: the customer authorises exactly which accounts are shared, with whom, and for how long (up to 12 months, renewable).

  • Consent can be revoked at any time.

  • Effectively, all Australian banks are Data Holders under CDR, covering transaction, savings, deposit, loan and credit card accounts.

  • For business/non-individual accounts, a Nominated Representative must be set up with the bank before any data can be shared (see Section 4).

What are Direct Feeds?

  • Direct Feeds are traditional bank feeds delivered under a direct commercial agreement between SISS and the bank, established via a bank-specific paper/digital authority form (e.g. a Client Authority Form) signed by the account holder.

  • Direct Feeds involve transaction fees charged by the banks. These additional costs are reflected in the higher pricing of Direct Feeds compared with CDR Feeds.

  • Supported institutions: ANZ, CBA, NAB, Westpac, St.George, BOQ, Bendigo Bank (including credit cards), BankSA, Bank of Melbourne, Macquarie, Rabobank, and CDF (transaction accounts only).

*CDR provides access to accounts made available by the bank. While CDR standards generally require eligible accounts available through online banking to be accessible via CDR, the bank determines which accounts are approved and made available through the feed.
